The economic and political stability allowed diverse styles and trends to flourish in the 1980s: rock, punk, functional, sporty, office wear. Maximalism, oversize, bold colors, statement patterns, and large-shoulder sums up the 1980s, with a silhouette shaped like a V.
This image-obsessed and bling era enabled designers to become the new stars of the decade and fashion shows the new entertainment.

- The functional style with sporty with sweaters, bold colours, leggings and bodysuits in funky materials, training jackets with matching pants.
- Office wear with the “power suit”, big pads, oversized blazers and tight pencil skirts.

80s designers
